Deltas are one of the most evolutionary tracts of this word. Particularly when mangrove deltas are viewed from fluvio-geomorphological perspectives, the Sundarbans of India and Bangladesh is the best example in this regard. Sundarbans should not only be evaluated merely through its size and roaming fields of Royal Bengal Tigers but the geomorphological aspects must be understood as spatio-temporal changes of the hydro-geomorphological environment matter a lot. The tides and ebbs play a very important role in the everyday physical and social activities of this unique deltaic region. The article aims to assess the fluvio-geomorphological environment in context with geological structure and tidal drainage network. The study found that by understanding the changing behaviour of the deltaic environment which ultimately affects the rural livelihoods there. The study also highlights how the different anthropogenic-induced issues in Sundarbans can be mitigated through intense research work with a proper understanding of judicious planning.
